Naples is a city full of surprises that leaves every tourist who visits it breathless. Naples, also called the Neapolitan city, is full of symbols, which represent a mix of superstition, faith and legend . In fact among these there is certainly the cult of San Gennaro and the miracle, which has always been popular, rooted in Neapolitan culture.
According to history, San Gennaro was beheaded for his Christian faith and according to legend, a woman would have collected his blood in an ampoule and kept it to venerate it as a relic. The blood solidified but not completely. Even today tradition has it that three times a year, on 16 December , the Saturday before the first Sunday of May and 19 September (the feast of the patron saint San Gennaro ) the " miracle " is repeated which sees the transformation from the solid to liquid of the blood contained in the ampoule.
This phenomenon is considered by the faithful and by all Neapolitans a miracle and at the same time a real " misfortune " in case the prodigy does not happen.
